Privacy Policy

Bright Oak Academy · Last updated September 13, 2026

Bright Oak Academy ("Bright Oak," "we," "us," or "our") provides an AI-assisted homeschool planning and tutoring platform at brightoakacademy.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When a parent or guardian ("you," the "account holder") signs up, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and billing information.

Student information. Bright Oak is a tool for parents and guardians. Any information about a child or student — such as a first name, age or grade level, and dietary or allergy notes used to personalize lessons — is entered by the account holder, not collected directly from the child.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not store full credit card numbers on our own servers.

Communications. If you contact us, or opt in to receive text messages or emails, we keep a record of that consent and the messages exchanged.

Usage data. We collect basic technical data (such as browser type and pages visited) to keep the Service running smoothly and secure.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to provide and personalize the Service, process payments, respond to support requests, send account and billing notices, and, where you've opted in, send marketing updates about Bright Oak Academy by email or SMS.

3. Text Messaging (SMS) Program

If you opt in to SMS messages through our website chat widget, message frequency may vary and message & data rates may apply. You may reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, or HELP for assistance. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of purchase. Your mobile information is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Children's Privacy

Bright Oak Academy is designed to be used by parents and guardians on behalf of their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Any student-related information in an account is provided and controlled by the account holder, who may review, correct, or delete it at any time by contacting us.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on trusted providers to operate the Service, including our CRM/hosting platform, our payment processor (Stripe), and voice/AI providers that power our AI teachers. These providers only receive the information needed to perform their function and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing purposes.

6. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect information in our care. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices

You may update your account information at any time, opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link, opt out of SMS by replying STOP, or request that we delete your account and associated data by emailing us at the address below.

8. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date.
