These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Bright Oak Academy's website and AI-assisted homeschool planning platform (the "Service"), operated by Bright Oak Academy ("Bright Oak," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The Service is intended for use by parents and legal guardians who are at least 18 years old, on behalf of their own children. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Bright Oak Academy provides tools to help organize homeschool curriculum, lesson planning, and progress tracking, along with AI-generated teaching assistance ("AI teachers"). Bright Oak is a planning and organization tool — it does not replace your responsibility as the educator of record and does not guarantee compliance with any particular state's homeschool requirements. It is your responsibility to confirm your own state's requirements.
We may offer a free trial period. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will begin and you will be billed according to the plan you selected. Subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or annually, depending on your plan) until canceled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are as displayed at checkout and are subject to change with notice for future billing periods.
By providing your phone number and opting in, you agree to receive text messages from Bright Oak Academy as described in our Privacy Policy. Message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time.
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt it, reverse-engineer it, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
Bright Oak Academy and its content, features, and functionality are owned by Bright Oak Academy and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any content you or your child create using the Service.
The Service is provided "as is." AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete, and should be reviewed by the parent or guardian. Bright Oak Academy is not a substitute for state-mandated instruction, testing, or accreditation requirements that may apply to your homeschool.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bright Oak Academy will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
